Across the Bridge

Practical life skills. Real experiences.Growing confident young people.

Across the Bridge works with children and teenagers aged about 8–16, teaching life skills the way they stick: by doing. From washing their own clothes to working outdoors and playing as a team.

Camps of about one week

Learning that happens with your hands

At Across the Bridge, young people aren't only taught. They take part. They try things, get them wrong, try again, and slowly discover what they're capable of.

Our programmes usually last around a week, though this can vary. Each day is built around real tasks and shared experiences, so that confidence is earned rather than lectured. The goal is simple: to help children cross the bridge from "I can't" to "I can".

  • Doing real activities

Life-skills learning

Camp ends. The growing doesn't.

Our relationship with young people doesn't stop when camp does.

Follow-up helps reinforce what children have learned and encourages continued growth once they're back home. It keeps the bridge open between the camp experience and everyday life. Change lasts best when the people around a child are part of it, so we also value working with parents, teachers and church and community leaders. Contact us to find out more about how follow-up works.
